Missed out my biggest gripe on the first post:
Ammo. Bad. The first one had a few codex pages on WHY ammo wasn't needed, and the second one introduces what's essentially ammo, but with really crap reasons. In game, ammo was either something that never mattered, or a hinderance at the most annoying moments (For example, husks.) rather than having any real gameplay value. The thermal clips counting as ammo to all of your weapons too just made it a really annoying system, i could understand limiting sniper ammo, or shotgun ammo, so that the devs can force you into awkward situations and keep you on your guard, but most of the time all it meant was you'd burn through your assault rifle's ammo near the end of a fight and have to tediously finish things off with another weapon for no good reason, and then are rewarded with a giant cache of ammo after just to run out again in the next encounter cause you carry an awkward ammount of the clips.
