Mass Effect 2

Pretty much anything [besides your unhealthy foot fetishes] goes in here.

Update -

Just finished it. The suicide mission makes up for the problems with the rest to an extent, and the ending...Mass effect 3 is going to be epic.

Now, i'ma go clean my self up a bit.

Missed out my biggest gripe on the first post:

Ammo. Bad. The first one had a few codex pages on WHY ammo wasn't needed, and the second one introduces what's essentially ammo, but with really crap reasons. In game, ammo was either something that never mattered, or a hinderance at the most annoying moments (For example, husks.) rather than having any real gameplay value. The thermal clips counting as ammo to all of your weapons too just made it a really annoying system, i could understand limiting sniper ammo, or shotgun ammo, so that the devs can force you into awkward situations and keep you on your guard, but most of the time all it meant was you'd burn through your assault rifle's ammo near the end of a fight and have to tediously finish things off with another weapon for no good reason, and then are rewarded with a giant cache of ammo after just to run out again in the next encounter cause you carry an awkward ammount of the clips.

I agree, the ammo system pisses me off, I can barely ever use my shotgun because it only has 15 bullets in it. The shotgun is the entire point of being a vanguard, but I'm always have to resort to the semi auto pistol cause everything else runs out of ammo really quickly.

Although the collector laser thing is probably the best weapon I've had yet, since it just burns through everything and when fighting the collectors, every other collector drops ammo for it.

Just recruited Legion, favourite character yet. And since the only other character I have left to recruit is Tali, unless she went to the same badass school as garrus for the last two years, legion is now my top man.

Also has anyone else heard mordy sing?

No, and yes, Legion is the best character. I was gutted when in my first play through he randomly dies in the last mission given that i actually liked him, while mordin and jacob survived, the latter of which i never even did the loyalty mission for, so i have no idea why the ones i actually liked ended up dying...

From what people irl have said, saving everyone is easy...

But they probably looked it up on interwebz, I'm looking forward to see who I can save using my own awesomeness.

am i the only one was a little dissapointed by ME2?

Postby timothebeafy on Thu Feb 11, 2010 3:51 pm

I concede that its a good yes but i mean aren't all the missions a little well samey? GO somewhere shoot a load of bad guys, shoot some more, talk to someone and then fly around a little. Its good but it was good tinged with dissapointment in my mouth
MEhhhh? the ultimate show of indifference in text form. it can only be beaten by a shrug of the shoulders and well you can't really type that unless you use ** which i don't really like.

I think that you are on your own on that one. ME2 is the best game that I have played in a long time.

Yeah...I wrote up a whole load of complaints in the actual ME2 thread. It is a good game, but could have easily been much much more, and i suspect someone at bioware got a bit nervous about deadlines.

Missions were samey and linear, on its own this isnt so bad, they are enjoyable, fun and challenging (when not playing on pussy.) but since the first had large sprawling levels with multiple paths, sidequests and lots of characters (Noveria, I'm looking at you) this seems like too much of step back from RPG and too forward a step towards TPS.
